Barely three months after she employed technology to create a beauty vlog titled Beauty Talkies With Ravz, Raveena Tandon is set to share tips on fashion and styling with fans. The actor reveals that requests for the fashion vlogs began to pour in from viewers arriving at her YouTube videos.

“There were also demands from fans on social media for the videos. I knew that this was the right time to introduce a fashion segment, in addition to the beauty one. I hope to share tips on making smart wardrobe choices,” says Tandon, who describes fashion as an “expression of how one feels on any given day”.

Fighting fit at 43, Tandon has been an inspiration for women of her age. With her sartorial preferences also making heads turn at social outings, she has aptly garnered a fair share of admirers. Tandon admits that as far as her wardrobe is concerned, she isn’t willing to templatise her selections. “I am open to experimenting. anyone who is brave enough to embrace different styles will make good choices. On the vlog, I will share tips that can be adhered to.”

Tandon says the secret to acing any ensemble is to “accessorise it with confidence”. “You should be able to own your clothes, whether they’re branded, or pieces you’ve picked up from a local market.”  As for her fashion preferences, the actor says breezy maxis, linen pant suits and culottes soar high on her checklist.

The actor acknowledges the fact that as part of her latest endeavour, she will have to play mentor to those who harbour a negative body image. “Engaging in body-shaming, or being affected by it, both stem from insecurity. An individual’s fashion should be a reflection his/her preference, not a slave to others’ perceptions. Besides, has anyone benefited from body shaming?”

Raveena Tandon became every girl’s go-to beauty guru last year as she turned vlogger and shared her skincare secrets on her social media handle. Now, mid-day has learnt that the actor is gearing up to launch her own line of skincare products.

A source close to the actor reveals, “Raveena has been approached by a beauty products company for a joint venture. While the actor has agreed in principle, the modalities are being worked out. The signature line will consist of hair and skincare products.”

Confirming the news, Tandon says that it was her fan base that prompted her to take her love for beauty to the next level. “When I started my vlog Beauty Talkies With Ravz, many of my fans urged me to launch skincare products made from natural ingredients. I thought it would be a good idea. Being an entrepreneur, I wanted to extend my entrepreneurial ability to a sphere that is close to my heart,” she says.

One to swear by the goodness of natural products, she insists that she will adopt the same philosophy in her range too. “The products won’t rely on animal testing, and won’t contain harmful chemicals.”

Many actors have ventured into the market with their collection of beauty essentials. Ask her how she intends to stand out from the bandwagon, she says, “I’m not pursuing this to make money. I only wish to deliver quality products to consumers and make them happy.”

Always envied flawless skin of Bollywood’s leading ladies? Well, B-Town’s mast mast girl Raveena Tandon might just help you achieve that. The actor has started her own beauty video blog (vlog), called Beauty Talkies With Ravz, where she gives skincare tips and shares her beauty secrets with her followers — all in videos of under a minute.

Tandon says that the idea of starting a beauty vlog germinated when she was flooded with requests for the same by her fans. “I’m grateful for all the love that fans have sent my way. I saw this as an opportunity to reciprocate their love. I will be addressing skin concerns and questions related to beauty that I get asked often.”

The response to her first two videos has been encouraging, she beams. While one may assume that the actor will recommend high-end skincare products that will burn a hole in their pockets, Tandon asserts that she suggests only “ghar ke nuskhe.” “I share all the home remedies that have been passed on to me. The tips that I suggest are easy to follow. The videos too are conceptualized by me,” she says of the posts that drop online every Wednesday.

Taking advantage of the interactive nature of social media, Tandon adds that she intends to take the project ahead by having interactive sessions with her fans in the near future. “Right now, we post the videos once a week. Depending on the audiences’ response, we will decide the frequency of the segment. Even if I’m travelling or busy with a shoot, I’ll fit this commitment in my schedule.”
