BAMBUKAT has emerged a huge blockbuster film with collections having crossed 8 crore nett in eight days and it is still going strong. The first week collections of the film in East Punjab were the third highest in history behind SARDAARJI and SARDAARJI 2. The Monday hold of the film was extraordinary as it dropped 30% from a high level. The drop was basically because of the weekdays ticket price drop but the footfalls were similar to day one. BAMBUKAT is looking to be among the top five films in the history of Punjabi cinema and final position will depend on what numbers it can bring in when MOHENJO DARO and RUSTOM release next week The daily business in East Punjab till date is as follows.
Friday - 1,38,00,000
Saturday - 1,46,00,000
Sunday - 1,81,00,000
Monday - 96,00,000
Tuesday - 83,00,000
Wednesday - 71,00,000
Thursday - 61,00,000
Week One - 7,76,00,000
Friday - 50,00,000
Grand Total - 8,26,00,000

The business in Delhi/UP was strong over the weekdays though it is underperforming in the market compared to East Punjab. But it should make up a little ground this week due to no new major release. The all India business of the film till date is around 9.50 crore nett.

BAMBUKAT has taken Punjab by storm as it collected over 4.50 crore nett in its first weekend. The film was expected to do well but not too this level. It has completely overshadowed DISHOOM in the circuit and East Punjab would have been one of the better circuits for DISHOOM. The collections in places like Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar are double of DISHOOM. It's business in Delhi/UP is less as the face value is not there for that market but it did pick up well on Saturday and should sustain well as the circuit plays catch up. The opening weekend of the film is the third highest ever in East Punjab and only behind the two SARDAARJI films frontlined by the initial draw of Diljit Dosanjh. The daily weekend business in East Punjab is as follows.
Friday - 1,38,00,000
Saturday - 1,46,00,000
Sunday - 1,81,00,000
TOTAL - 4,65,00,000

The all India business of the film will be around 5.15 crore nett. BAMBUKAT is already a HIT film after three days and where it goes from will depend on the follow through from today onwards. It will sustain but the key is at what level.
