BADLAPUR is heading for a 50 crore nett lifetime total as it held a
bit better in week three than the previous week. The collections in the
third weekend were around 1.75-2.00 crore nett which is a 70% drop from
the previous weekend as against the 75% drop in second weekend.
The total of the film is now around 47.25 crore nett and the film is looking at a lifetime finish in the 50 crore nett range which will mean it surpasses the business of HAIDER which was a similar type of film released last year.
The business in the Maharashtra belt has come off though as it looked Mumbai circuit will do 20 crore nett after four days of release while now it will have to settle for 17-17.50 crore nett.

BADLAPUR had fair business in its second weekend grossing around 6 crore nett approx. The growth over the weekend could have been better but it this was probably because the film was mainly collecting at multiplexes in week two and DUM LAGA KE HAISHA gave the film competition.
The film has taken its collections to 42 crore nett in two weeks and should make it to 50 crore nett or at least end up very close. Surprisingly the film has made a mark on the basis of its opening rather than the sustained run which these types normally do when they succeed. This is probably due to growing following of Varun Dhawan.
The second weeknd saw Mumbai circuit drop. It is Gujarat which sustains best in the circuit but that was the weakest area for BADLAPUR in Mumbai which was driven by Mumbai city and Pune. North however held up better with both Delhi/UP and East Punjab showing smaller drops compared to Mumbai.
------------------
The business of BABY till date is as follows.
Week One - 51,94,00,000
Week Two 18,86,00,000
Week Three - 6,76,00,000
Fourth Week - 2,79,00,000
Fifth Week - 1,00,00,000
Sixth Weeeknd - 20,00,000
TOTAL - 82,17,00,000
The film has had a decent run at the box office as not many films reach the sixth week but the first week business cost the film badly and cemented its fate.

AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 and DUM LAGA KE HAISHA had poor collections on day with AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 grossing around 1.25-1.50 crore nett and DUM LAGA KE HAISHA grossing around 1-1.25 crore nett.
The first day collections of AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 may be better but it has no chance at the box office as the collections have come of close to 1400 screens. DUM LAGA KE HAISHA did show some improvement in the evening and despite its low start still has a chance if it can show that big improvement on the key Saturday.
----------------------
BADLAPUR had a 75-80% fall on its second Friday compared to first Friday as it grossed around 1.50 crore nett. The hold is decent. The eight day total is around 37.75 crore nett.
The collections of BADLAPUR on day eight were slightly better than both the new releases AB TAK CHHAPPAN 2 and DUM LAGA KE HAISHA on their respective first days. BADLAPUR should see big growth on second Saturday as it's a settled film and normally films which have a sustaining week one run show a big jump on Saturday.
BADLAPUR has chances of hitting that 25 crore share mark and becoming the first solid hit of the year but needs to get in a 10 crore nett plus week two.

BADLAPUR had a good first week as it grossed around 36.25 crore nett in week one. The film held up pretty well on the weekdays to record the second highest first week total of the year after BABY which grossed 51.75 crore nett plus.
The collections are very similar to MAIN TERA HERO which was released last April and grossed 37.25 crore nett. That film was driven by Mumbai circuit with a ratio of 36% and it will be slightly higher for BADLAPUR as Mumbai has also performed best for this especially the main cities of Maharashtra.
------------------------
ROY crashed badly in week two grossing around 2.75 crore nett and taking its two week total to 36.50 crore nett. The fall in week two was a huge 92%. The two week business is the same as the first week business of BADLAPUR and ROY had taken a better opening than BADLAPUR on day one.
The film basically just performed for the two days and day one was due to the presence of Ranbir Kapoor and Valentines day kept it afloat on day two and the the crashes started with Monday seeing the type of crash which is very rare..
The film which has cost around 50 crore to release and market with 30% of that going to Ranbir Kapoor for his services will lose heavily. The loses will be over 15 crore for sure as recovery from all revenues can go a little up 30 crore at best.

BADLAPUR grossed around 3.75-4 crore nett on Monday. It's a decent hold but there was a noticeable fall in some areas. The drop is just under 50% from Friday. The film is driven by Mumbai circuit and it's a plus that a big contributor to all India business is leading. The four day business is around 27.50 crore nett.
The film had average business on in the North over the weekend and Delhi and Punjab had the biggest falls on Monday. The central belts and Mumbai are better and they will have to drive the film. The film lost around 2 crore nett on Sunday due to the cricket so there was chance of strong hold the next day but it was not case here.

BADLAPUR did well in its first weekend grossing around 23.50 crore nett. The film fared best in Maharashtra due to the regional flavour of the film. Mumbai circuit grossed 9 crore nett approx over the weekend and that too with Gujarat not being too strong. The first weekend business of BADLAPUR is as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000
Saturday - 8,50,00,000
Sunday - 8,00,00,000
TOTAL - 23,50,00,000
-------------------------
BABY has grossed close to 81 crore nett till the end of its fifth weekend. The business of BABY till date is as follows.
Week One - 51,94,00,000
Week Two 18,86,00,000
Week Three - 6,76,00,000
Fourth Week - 2,79,00,000
Fifth Weekend - 60,00,000
TOTAL - 80,95,00,000
The distributor share is 38 crore which is not much better than Akshay Kumar films released years back like WELCOME, SINGH IS KING and HOUSEFULL.

BADLAPUR did pretty well on day one as it grossed around 7 crore
nett. The collections in cities of Maharashtra were good be it Mumbai,
Thane, Pune or Nagpur. The business of Mumbai circuit will come in at
around 2.50 crore nett
Its is the third best opening day after ROY and BABY and is a much smaller film. The business should be able to grow on Saturday as some multiplex dominated circuits like East Punjab and Mysore were lacklustre and these should show good gains on Saturday
The film will be hit hugely on Sunday by the cricket match between India and South Africa and its fate will depend on the business on Monday. If the film finds appreciation it should slowly cover some of the business lost due to the match on Monday and the rest of the weekdays.
