BAAGHI 2 is edging close to the 150 crore nett mark as it collected an excellent 32.50 crore nett in week two. There is a drop from the first week of around 70% but that is still good considering the huge first week collections. The total of the film has crossed 143 crore nett while Mumbai circuit is now 40 crore nett plus and Delhi/UP is 30 crore nett plus. These are very big numbers for these circuits and its a similar story across all other circuits.

BLACKMAIL has fared poorly at the box office with low weekend collections and then falling collections on the weekdays. It has ended its first week with 14.50 crore nett and there is not much scope to sustain into the second the week due to low occupancy over the weekdays. BAAGHI 2 continued to sustain well on its second Monday with 3.50 crore nett which has taken it close to 135 crore nett. The drop of the film is under 30% from the Friday and it remains unaffected by the IPL cricket matches and the other films around it.

The second week so far has collected 23.75 crore nett in four days and looks on course for a total of 33 crore nett which will see the film at around 144 crore nett and then should cruise past the 150 crore nett mark. BAAGHI 2 will finish among the top twenty NETT grossers of all time though in terms of GROSS it may just fall outside the top twenty.

BAAGHI 2 did very well in its second weekend with business of 20.25 crore nett which takes the total ten day business to 131 crore nett. The drop is there of 72% from the first weekend but that is because the first weekend was huge and also aided by the first day holiday. If we take the holiday factor then the drop goes to under 70% which is good for an action film like this.

The film is on course to be the second biggest nett grosser on a non holiday after YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI which released in 2013. All the films above BAAGHI 2 barring YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI are not only holiday releases but all on major holidays which are (Xmas, Eid, Diwali, Republic Day and Independence Day). It pretty much shows how difficult big numbers are outside the major holidays.

The film has doubled the business of the new release BLACKMAIL despite being in week two and that is not really a big deal but it is recording better collections even in metros like Mumbai city, Delhi and Kolkata where the market for commercial mass films is less than say ten years ago apart from when they feature a Khan.

BAAGHI 2 continues to dominate the box office with collections of 6.50 crore nett on its second Saturday. The film takes its nine day total to around 122.25 crore as it heads for a 150 crore nett plus lifetime total. The collections on Saturday were around double of the new release BLACKMAIL.

The film is on the verge of crossing of DANGAL, KICK and DHOOM 3 in Bihar and it will do by the end of business on Sunday as it crosses 6.75 crore nett and becomes the seventh highest grosser in the circuit. The film is probably looking at a top four finish in that circuit thanks to the huge mass appeal.

The second weekend is 11.50 crore nett in two days and should get to 20 crore nett and maybe even cross the 20 crore nett mark. The IPL will have two matches on Sunday and that could be a little hindrance though the last two years have seen very limited drop in collections due to IPL.

BAAGHI 2 has emerged a Blockbuster film as it grossed 5 crore nett on its eight day which is a 35% drop from Thursday which is pretty normal especially considering the sort of run it had in week one. The film is pretty much certain to cross 150 crore nett now and will more likely go towards 160 crore nett or maybe even higher but that depends on the latter weeks.

The best hold has come in UP as the film remains super strong there and strong in the rest of India. There has been no film that has grossed between 150-175 crore nett in India till date which is surprising and this film is likely to fill that gap.
