AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR had an excellent second week of 46.75 crore nett which is better than all releases this year except PADMAAVAT. The collections are less then the second week of THE JUNGLE BOOK which collected 48.10 crore nett. The total collections of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR are 203 crore nett plus after two weeks.

It looks on course for a total somewhere in the region of 225 crore which would mean its footfalls are still less than THE JUNGLE BOOK (2016) and in the same range as TITANIC (1998). The 2 crore footfall mark has remained elusive for Hollywood since JURASSIC PARK which became the first Hollywood film to cross 1 crore footfalls in 1994. Probably Hollywood films need to release on UFO and Qube formats to go past 2 crore footfalls.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR continued to hold strongly on Monday as it collected 5 crore nett and became the highest NETT grosser in India for Hollywood films at 192 crore as it crossed the 187.65 crore nett of THE JUNGLE BOOK. The GROSS is still less as THE JUNGLE BOOK was 255 crore and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is 248 crore till now but here it will also go ahead in a day or two.

The second week is heading for a 48 crore nett total which would be the same as THE JUNGLE BOOK. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR has grossed more in 11 days  than what THE JUNGLE BOOK took twenty weeks to do.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR grossed a huge 30 crore nett plus in its second weekend as it took its total to 187 crore nett. The film is now just a few lakhs short of being the highest grossing Hollywood film in India. The total for THE JUNGLE BOOK was 187.65 crore nett which will be surpassed today and it should go to the 200 crore nett plus mark before the end of the week. This is also a first for a Hollywood release.

The film easily dominated the new Hindi releases but 102 NOT OUT and OMERTA were releases with limited appeal where big numbers were not going to come and with the latter to say limited appeal is being a bit kind as reality is that it has no appeal.

The way the film is going it will probably do around three times the business of the last AVENGERS film (AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON) released in 2015 and this takes this franchise to another level in India.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR continues to dominate the box office in India with excellent numbers on day eight of 7 crore nett. There is a 75% drop from day one but its still collecting at very high levels. The total of the film has reached 163 crore nett and by the end of the weekend it could become the highest grossing Hollywood film in India beating the 187 crore nett plus of THE JUNGLE BOOK. If not Sunday then Monday it will go ahead of THE JUNGLE BOOK.

THE JUNGLE BOOK grossed 48 crore nett in week two and that record could still stand as it wont be easy for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR to reach that mark. The 200 crore nett mark which will be the first for a Hollywood release will be reached by the end of the second week.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR had huge growth on its second Saturday of 50% as it went into double digits again with collections of 10.50 crore nett. The blockbuster film had as much growth on the second Saturday as as much as the content film 102 NOT OUT. In the metroes the growth was 60% plus.

The total of the film is now 173 crore nett plus and it could go on to do a second week of 50 crore nett depending on the weekday business. No Hollywood film has ever done 50 crore nett in week two and only nine Hindi films have achieved this feat with many of them with the help of holiday periods.
