AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER recorded outstanding second week collections of around 98 crore nett which is is super strong hold with a drop of less than 50% and that is from an outstanding first week. This takes the total of the film to 287 crore nett and it will cross the 300 crore nett mark on Saturday.

It will be the second film from Hollywood to hit 300 crore nett after AVENGERS: ENDGAME which did 367 crore nett. AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is on course to catch that film and become the highest grosser ever from Hollywood at the moment but a lot depends on Monday and the follow through post holiday period.

India looks like one of the rare major markets for the film where it has sailed past the numbers of AVATAR (2009) by leaps and bounds. There has been huge growth for Hollywood since 2009 but still there is a huge outperformance in India for this film compared to other major markets across the world.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER smashed all records in South India from day one and continues to do so as it beat the numbers of AVENGERS: ENDGAME in all circuits. It had done Nizam/Andhra and Kerala some time back but now it has also crossed Mysore/Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

The film has collected a huge 133 crore nett in South India till date (13 days) and this could go to around 160-170 crore nett in the final tally and this would be in a similar range to PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 as far as business in South India goes. PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 was around the 175 crore nett mark.

The film has really pushed the boundaries in Nizam/Andhra and because of that, it will end up doing 60-65% more than AVENGERS: ENDGAME does in South while in Hindi circuits, it will be around 35% less than Endgame. This also has a lot to do with AVATAR (2009) being far bigger in South than Hindi circuits especially the mass Hindi circuits which did not take to the 2009 film that well.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER crossed the 275 crore nett mark as it collected 9.50 crore nett on its second Wednesday and the overall total went to 278 crore nett plus. The collections saw a minimal drop on Wednesday from the previous day.

The second week is already a record for Hollywood as it has beaten the 76.50 crore nett of AVENGERS: ENDGAME and the week is likely to end 21 crore nett higher than the Marvel film. AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER will also easily beat AVENGERS: ENDGAME in the third week when that film collected only 20 crore nett.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is chasing the lifetime numbers of AVENGERS: ENDGAME at 367 crore nett and this will probably be dependent on Monday as the holiday period will be over and the film will see a fall in collections.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER remained in double digits on its second Tuesday as it collected a little over 10 crore nett. This takes the film to 268 crore nett plus and will cross the 300 crore nett mark before the holiday period ends.

The film saw its first major drop in Nizam/Andhra on day twelve but it has done extraordinary business in the circuit with a total of 55 crore nett in twelve days and should finish with a huge 65 crore nett in the circuit. This figure will probably put it in 6th or 7th place among the top grossers in the circuit for 2022. Its a huge result as its a circuit where big grossers mainly come from local films and it will almost double the numbers of AVENGERS: ENDGAME in the circuit.

South India continues to dominate for AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER as Nizam/Andhra may have dropped but Tamil Nadu has taken over the mantle and the film is doing exceptional business there in the second week.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is breaking records of all Hollywood releases as it heads for a huge second week which could be in the 100 crore nett range. This will be a first for Hollywood in India. The second Monday collected a huge 12 crore nett which is just 35% down from last Monday and is the same as the second Friday.

The film has come into its own in the second week and should keep on getting big numbers till next Monday when the drop will come as the holiday period ends. This is the perfect film to take advantage of holiday period as it is catering to that multiplex audience in major centres.

The collections so far for the film are around 258 crore nett and it will become the second Hollywood film to hit the 300 crore nett mark in India which it should do over the third weekend. The film chases the 367 crore nett of AVENGERS: ENDGAME and the way the film is going at the moment gives it a chance of beating that film.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER broke records for Hollywood films as it recorded the highest second weekend ever beating the 52.50 crore nett of AVENGERS: ENDGAME as it collected 57 crore nett over its second weekend. The total collections of the film are now 246.50 crore nett.

The GROSS collections of the film crossed 300 crore on Sunday and stand at 310 crore after its second weekend. In terms of international collections, India stands as the fourth best market after China, South Korea and France at the moment.

The film smashed opening day records in all four South circuits (Nizam/Andhra, Mysore/Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala). Nizam/Andhra and Kerala have already lifetime records also while Tamil Nadu and Mysore/Karnataka will also join. On Friday, it became the highest Hollywood grosser in the South as it comfortably went over 100 crore nett and it could go on and do 150 crore nett in South which will be almost 50% more than AVENGERS: ENDGAME.

The film made up ground in Mumbai circuit over the second weekend as it collected 13 crore nett which is a 23% ratio when the first week was languishing at just 18%.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER saw extraordinary growth of 70-75% on its second Saturday as it collected in the 20.5-21 crore nett which is the highest collections ever for a Hollywood film for a second Saturday in India. The film has now started to beat AVENGERS: ENDGAME game daily collections as that film collected a little under 19 crore nett on its second Saturday.

The growth was extraordinary all over though it was Mumbai leading the way where the film has almost touched the 40 crore nett mark. Nizam/Andhra still leads the way as it crossed the 50 crore nett mark. The total collections of the film are now almost 223 crore nett and it is cruising towards that 300 crore nett mark.

The film could hit 250 crore nett in ten days today as it is a national holiday for Christmas.

AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is a BLOCBUSTER and heading for the 300 crore nett plus mark as it collects a huge 12 crore nett on its second Friday taking its overall total to over 200 crore nett. The film continues with insane collections in South as it contributes 50% of the all India collections on the second Friday.

There is no let up in Nizam/Andhra also after the phenomenal first week. There was competition from a medium Telugu film with DHAMAKA which should be an opening day of around 6 crore nett and that is pretty good. But AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER may compete well with this film over the weekend in the circuit.

The growth will be huge over the weekend especially now as CIRKUS has not done too well and Mumbai circuits starts to comfortably lead for the film. Nizam/Andhra is way out ahead but from Saturday onward it is likely that Mumbai will really be cutting that lead fast and may still end up being the biggest circuit which is the case with most films from Hollywood released in India.
