ANDHADHUN has held very strongly on the weekdays as it collected over 26 crore nett in week one. The weekend collections of the film were low but it has made up ground on the weekdays and continue to its strong run in week two. The film finished the week on Thursday with better collections than the first day.

The film remains a metro a film as collections outside the main metros are not good. It is being driven by Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore with the collections in Pune standing out and in the second week it could be beating many of the big films in this city looking at how the first week has gone.

The first week collections are in the range of films like 102 NOT OUT and HICHKI and lifetime should be in the range of these films but with the dull pre diwali period to come where there will not be many releases, it could do better than those two films. Also it will get the boost of Durga Puja holidays in the East from Monday onwards which will push the collections in Kolkata.

LOVEYATRI grossed a poor 10 crore nett in week one and is out as it faced rejection from the paying public. Salman Khan films had another film with newcomers a couple of years back HERO which is a remake of the 1983 blockbuster of the same name and although that film also did not do well it was far better than this film. That film managed to open well and managed to do over 30 crore nett business which actually looks a good total now with newcomers.

VENOM had an average first week of 23 crore nett. The film had opened well and although has held fairly well it could not push up over the weekend which would have added a few more crore to its total. The weekend push may not have come as the metro crowd preferred ANDHADHUN rather than VENOM.

ANDHADHUN had another strong day on Tuesday as it collected 3 crore nett apprx. There was a drop from Monday but that is probably as it was a minor holiday at places on Monday. The collections are still well above the first day collections. The first week is heading towards a 26-27 crore nett total which is good considering the film was not even 2.50 crore nett on day one. The second Friday will tell if the film can go to 50 crore nett or even higher.

This means that the footfalls were around 65-70% more than Friday due to lower ticket rates on the weekdays. The collections on Monday were 3.50 crore nett and it is very rare for a film to jump this much on Monday even allowing for the low numbers on Friday.

ANDHADHUN could keep collecting in this range through the week as it seems the metros have really taken to the film.

ANDHADHUN came out the top film on Sunday with collections of 7 crore nett on Sunday. The film has gone ahead of VENOM despite a much weaker start compared to that film. The film has jumped around 110% on Saturday and consolidated with 40% growth on Sunday. The weekend is ordinary but the trend is excellent and it depends on how the film holds from here on.

The film has grossed over 14 crore nett and it should see a good Monday hold going by weekend trend and the target should be to be at least around the Friday figure.

ANDHADHUN gained momentum on Saturday with multiplexes showing huge gains on Saturday. The film more than doubled its collections on Saturday to collected around 5 crore nett. The total of the film is a little over 7.25 crore nett.

The day two number puts the film in a decent position but its still all about what it can do over the weekdays and after as the weekend is still going to be low. The trend will be very strong especially if it can consolidate this growth on Sunday.

LOVEYATRI is a poor fair as it failed to show much growth on Saturday. The film has collected 2 crore nett on day two and is not going anywhere at the box office.
