Tiger Shroff to move into his eight-bedroom apartment in April 2020

Avinash Lohana (MUMBAI MIRROR; October 26, 2019)

Mirror had earlier reported (July 24, 2018) that Tiger Shroff has bought a sprawling eight-bedroom apartment in a plush neighbourhood in the city’s western suburbs. The 29-year-old actor had been hunting for an ideal property for a while and finalised the deal last year.

Now, we have learnt that Tiger will move into his dream house in April next year. According to a source close to the actor, it is being designed to suit his personality and, in a way, that it can house everything he needs. “There are spaces assigned for his workouts, dance practice and official meetings,” the source shared, adding that John Abraham’s interior designer brother Alan is doing up the place, while Tiger’s mother Ayesha Shroff and designer Sussanne Khan have helped with inputs. “Shopping for it is on in full swing.”

In an interview with Mirror (Dec 2018), the actor had admitted to buying a home for the family. “We will move in once it’s ready, maybe in a year or so,” the actor had shared, while his actor-father Jackie Shroff had described it as an “emotional moment”, adding that they never wanted one, but Tiger thought they should have a house and had been slogging to make the dream come true. Proud that the young actor has worked his way to the top, the exuberant father had added, “God is kind, what else can you expect from your child! Tiger is setting an example for other kids to follow. He sleeps by 10.30 pm and is up by 6 am… He respects people and focuses on his craft… He steers clear of malice and is a man on a mission.”

On the work front, Tiger has started shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s action thriller, the Ahmed Khan-directed Baaghi 3, with Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead and Riteish Deshmukh as his cop-brother. The actor is scheduled to fly to Serbia in November to kick-start the international schedule of the film.

Tiger Shroff’s stock is on an all-time high. After delivering a hit with Ahmed Khan’s Baaghi 2 alongside Disha Patani, the 28-year-old actor stepped into the shoes of former ‘students’ Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra with Punit Malhotra’s Student Of The Year 2 alongside Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria. Now, Mirror has learnt that the actor recently acquired a sprawling eight-bedroom apartment in a plush Khar neighbourhood. He is expected to move in by early next year.

“Tiger had been hunting for an ideal property for a while now and was really excited when he came across this one. The deal came through earlier this month and his family is extremely happy about Tiger’s latest investment. John Abraham’s interior designer brother Alan will be decorating the place as Tiger had really liked his work in John’s house. He wants to keep his space contemporary yet minimalistic and will be dedicating considerable space in his new pad to a gym,” informs a source close to the development, adding that Tiger’s mother Ayesha will be actively involved in setting up the house.

With his new acquisition, Tiger joins the long list of Bollywood folks who are acquiring real estate in the city. While Shahid Kapoor reportedly bought a duplex in Worli recently, Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu moved into their new apartments in suburban Mumbai. Around January, Aditya Roy Kapur had followed in the footsteps of close friend Ranbir Kapoor by moving into his own bachelor pad in Bandra, a four-BHK spread across 4000-sq-feet. The actor has converted the space into a two-BHK to make way for a huge hall that could house one of his most prized possessions, a pool table bought from Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, after wrapping up SOTY 2, Tiger will dive into his next with his screen idol Hrithik Roshan. Next year, he is scheduled to start work on the third Baaghi film and Siddharth Anand’s Rambo.

Bandra gets Bimal Roy Path

Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 9, 2017)

Bimal Roy, the man behind classics like Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Sujata, and Bandini, now has a road in Bandra named after him - Bimal Roy Path. It was inaugurated on his 51st death anniversary on January 8 by Priya Dutt. The signboard has been designed by John Abraham's brother, Alan.

Bimal Roy's son, Joy, who has lived on Mount Mary Road all his life, still finds it hard to believe that a part of the road has been named after his father who moved there in 1954. “It was an important time in his life because that's when he started his first production, Do Bigha Zamin. It's a huge honour,“ he exults, recalling that his father was so unhappy with the way Kabuliwala had been shot that he spent the Rs two lakh in his bank account to reshoot the film, reasoning that he couldn't release a film he was unhappy with.

The family had been trying to get the road named after Roy when Sunil Dutt was MP. After he passed away, it was passed to his daughter, Priya, along with MLA Baba Siddiqui and Councillor Asif Zakaria. “Six months ago, I learnt that there's a proposal in the BMC to name the road after my father,“ he informs.

John Abraham's brother, Alan to design Hrithik Roshan's new Juhu home

Hrithik Roshan is going all out to make sure that his new Juhu home is a dream abode. The actor had commisioned John Abraham's brother, Alan Abraham, to decorate his rented flat in a Juhu building, which is also the residence of Akshay Kumar.

Interestingly, this is the same flat which was earlier being eyed by Hrithik's Krrish 3 co-star, Priyanka Chopra (Mirror, December 12, 2013). But it was Hrithik who finally got his hands on the property and a makeover was in full swing for the last five months.

The actor saw the new interiors recently and decided that he wanted to add more finishing touches to the living space.

Mirror has it that this time, he has hired an interior decorator from the US for the job. The new designer, Maria, has started work and workers have been spotted hauling cement and building material into the flat.

When contacted, Alan maintained, "I don't discuss my clients. That's my policy.

But Hrithik told Mirror, "Alan's job is done and he has done a fantastic job. Now Maria, from Aria Design Company is further decorating my apartment."

However, a friend of John clarified, “It wasn’t John. It was his brother Alan who became a father on Sunday. John was very excited, almost as if he had become a father himself.”

Alan who is younger to John, got married to his Romanian sweetheart in 2008. This is their first child.
