AIRLIFT continued its good run on Wednesday as it grossed around 5.75 crore nett. Although it is a big drop from the previous day which was a big national day but this can always happen with a film having a huge ratio of business from multiplexes. The film had weekday ticket rates at multiplexes for the first time after five days so its likely to tell in collections especially for a multiplex film. The drop is still less than 50% from day one despite it being a Wednesday so the total is still very good.

The film has now grossed around 75 crore nett in six days will finish the week with an excellent 80 crore nett plus total.

The film will face competition from MASTIZAADE on Friday which could take an opening but if the film does not have what its audiences is expecting from it, the collections will fall fast and that will leave Airlift as main film again over the weekend

AIRLIFT had a strong first week of around 79.75 crore nett as the weekdays contributed a huge chunk of the business as ticket rates were held at weekend rates on Monday and Tuesday. There was a drop on Wednesday but still collections were at a high level meaning the film goes into week two with strong collections.

The film had a pretty good start on Friday but it was the growth on Saturday which put it on the road of success. The film has recorded the third highest first week collections for Republic Day week behind JAI HO (83.48 crore) and AGNEEPATH (81.37 crore). Airlift has almost touched the lifetime business of last years Republic Day week release BABY (81.83 crore)

The film will be the highest Akshay Kumar grosser ever in East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore and maybe Delhi/UP. It has outside chance of being Akshay Kumar's highest all India grosser ever (ROWDY RATHORE - 131.21 crore) but even if it somehow gets there the share will be much less as that was a huge success in single screens also.

AIRLIFT had super strong hold on Monday dropping just 10% from day one with 10 crore nett business. The best holds were in Delhi NCR and East Punjab which held close to first day levels and the first day figures were also good in these parts. The falls came in UP and Bihar as both places dropped around 30-35% but it did not make much difference to overall total as the contribution from these areas is pretty low.  The first four day business is as follows.

The film should do a 80 crore nett first week but will depend on the jump on Republic day which can be anywhere between 30-60%. If the jump is on the higher side it will comfortably cross 80 crore nett. JAI HO in 2014 grossed 83.50 crore nett which is a record for Republic Day week.

AIRLIFT had huge growth of 70% on Tuesday due to the holiday for Republic day. The film had its best day at many centres though centres where it had a strong weekend were a little less than the Sunday.  The first five day business is as follows.

AIRLIFT did well in its first weekend grossing 42.50 crore apprx. The film had a decent start but picked very well in the evening followed by huge growth on Saturday. As bulk of the business is from big cities, huge Sunday growth was always going to be difficult but it still managed to show a nice jump.

The first day business was 11 crore nett, second day was 14.50 crore nett and third day 17 crore nett. The best business is in Mumbai, Delhi / UP and East Punjab while Mysore showed a huge jump on Saturday.

Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar and CI have not grossed even as much as some of the under performing Akshay Kumar films but should manage fair business in the long run,

KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 grossed 17.75 crore nett over its first weekend. The start was decent but it downhill after that as the first day remained the best day. The first weekend business of KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 is as follows.

The total is still not bad against the budget of the film but the problem is there will be no follow up due to the 20% fall on day two. It is very rare for a film fall 20% on day two unless first day is a holiday. It has not happened in the last few years.

AIRLIFT showed excellent growth on Saturday grossing 14.50 crore nett. The film had good collections at multiplexes in most of the major cities. Multiplexes and single screens is smaller cities are below the mark due to low start.  The first two day busines is as follows.

KYAA KOOL HAIN HUM 3 on the other hand dropped on day two with around 5.25 crore nett. The drop had started on day one so this was always on the cards. The two day business is 11.75 crore nett apprx.
