Ram Gopal Varma promises to come back from the dead with the third instalment of Sarkar

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has dedicated his autobiogra phy, Guns And Thighs: The Story of My Life, to The Fountainhead author Ayn Rand, martial arts artisteactor Bruce Lee, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, porn star Tori Black and Urmila Matondkar whom he re-launched with Rangeela. “A few gangsters too,“ he is quick to add, saying the dedication is in accordance with their contribution to his life, one way or the other.

The maker who went on to direct Urmila in Satya, Ek Hasina Thi, Bhoot and over a dozen other films, chooses not to comment on his fallout with the actress, saying somewhat vaguely, “My status quo with anybody will be the status quo of their present self and my status quo of the past, present and presumed future.“ And why had Urmila's career come to a virtual standstill despite her initial box-office success and critical acclaim. He retorts, “I will only answer the question about somebody's career the day I can answer own about my own career.“

Ramu was last seen in the AIB video Fire taking a dig at his biggest debacle, RGV Ki Aag, joking saying that if people do not make their homes “fire safe“, he'll be back with Aag 2 next year. While he continues to produce, write and direct Telugu films, his last released Hindi film was Satya 2 in 2013. Is his Bollywood career over? “Whenever I am back from the dead I will direct Amitabh Bachchan in Sarkar 3,“ he says.

Earlier this month, the filmmaker had shared the cover of his book on the social media promising some revelations about his cinematic journey, his tryst with the city's underworld, his affairs with women and “Amitabh Bachchan being an idiot“. He reveals that the title of the book came from an answer to a question about what attracted him to cinema. “It was the gun in Amitabh Bachchan's hand in Deewaar and Sridevi's thighs in Himmatwala that made me want to make movies,“ he says. “The book is about my love affair with a gangster and my marriage with Amitabh Bachchan.“

Ramu is known for his constant rants on social media. He posts over a dozen tweets a day, what is left to say in a autobiography? “My tweets are a spontaneous bullet point responses to what I feel at that moment about an issue. My book is both an elaboration as well as a dissection of a said topic which I have made, incision by incision,“ he signs off.
